Biography
Los Angeles indie band Shiloe, comprised of three musicians who aim to captivate listeners with their uniquely intense songs, have created quite an impact in just under two years of existence. All ten songs featured on both of their EPs, '05's Guardian Ear of the Radio Nurse and '07's Please Remove Your Teeth From My Neck, have received radio play both in L.A. and abroad, from stations such as L.A.'s own KROQ 106.7, Indie 103.1 and KXLU 88.9 (where they have performed live on the air), as well as numerous college and online radio stations around the world including RadioNowhere (UK) , where "The Rat" was chosen as the listener favorite for three weeks in a row. They were also invited to be guest DJ's on Little Radio, interviewed for the Untapped Talent column in the November '05 issue of nationally distributed Tastes Like Chicken magazine, profiled in the Pasadena Weekly and featured in the Los Angeles Times' Buzz Bands column.

Ken Ramos, Shiloe's guitarist/lead singer and songwriter, began playing bass at the age of 13, playing in several bands before finally switching to guitar. Melissa Pleckham began playing guitar at the age of 14, but found her true passion was the bass. The two played in several different bands together from 2001-2004. After discovering the strength of their creative collaboration, with Ramos composing the music and Pleckham frequently crafting and honing the lyrics, they founded Shiloe in early 2005. With the recent addition of their accomplished new drummer, Chris Strom, the trio have breathed new life into their songs and their performances. Shiloe's music has been described as powerful, atmospheric and haunting, with hints of The Pixies, Joy Division, and Radiohead.

Shiloe's members passionately value the intensity and pure energy of live music. In addition to performing in many well-known and popular venues in Los Angeles, they have performed at Emo's in Austin, TX, where they opened for the Court and Spark and Pretty Girls Make Graves after finishing as a finalist in the Spin/CMJ sponsored Zig Zag Live Club Tour, and in Mexico City, where they were invited to headline Radio Alterno's 2-year anniversary celebration in June 2006. 2007 brought their first West Coast tour, including stops in Seattle, Portland and the Bay Area, and the release of their second EP, Please Remove Your Teeth From My Neck, which has received positive notice from publications such as Music Emissions, where it was given 4.5 stars out of 5. The band was also invited to open for Gliss on the final night of their Monday night Spaceland residency, and have continued to garner favorable press notices, including a featured interview in the Mexican print magazine "Indie Rocks!" Shiloe is currently working on developing new material and widening their scope as a band.
